xlsgen 3.5 build #110 : Smaller XLSX files

Build 3.5.0.110 of xlsgen brings a welcome improvement for writing XLSX files (and their variants).

The XML internally written is now optimized for expressing the same thing with less angle quotes. The result is important gains in raw parts, but of course since those files are zipped in the end, the zipped files exhibit a smaller change in size overall than the unzipped parts.

This does not break anything and is compatible with all Excel versions.

xlsgen 3.5 build #109 : Rendering of horizontal charts

Build 3.5.0.109 of xlsgen makes a small change to how horizontal bar charts are rendered.

The series order is reversed in order to mimic what Excel does with horizontal bar charts.

Windows 10 : still unencrypted by default?

Even though it won't matters to much people out there, Microsoft has been on an offensive the last few ten days, basically announcing why everyone, both consumers and corporate people should move to Windows 10 as soon as it's out later this year.

But Microsoft acted as if Snowden did not happen.

Microsoft acted as if their services were not listed as active NSA agents around the world.

Does not Snowden revelations make Microsoft a corporation that can't be trusted?

And you are going to use them for serving your emails, your documents, your software ?

Only crazy people or uneducated people would do that. Basically marginal people, not citizens.

Microsoft had a unique chance to fix that.

All they had to is announce encryption by default across their services.

Encryption, whether or not it can be cracked, makes it much harder for NSA agents to break into everyone's privacy and use it for their political agenda without you able to contest it in a court.

Why isn't Microsoft doing it?

Is it because it is a US corporation and, as such, it cannot afford to behave in favor of computer users ?

If the US government thinks internet users cannot be trusted, Microsoft should make it clear they are helping the US government enforce this ideology online. That Microsoft is not empowering people out there, only coercing into marginal silos.

Think about that. Think about Bill Gates "a computer on every desk". Think about the values such mantra carried. And see it got derailed along the way...

Microsoft cannot be trusted. You don't need a new story to confirm this.

Instead of upgrading to Windows 10 and put yourself at risk, it's better rethinking about this whole online activity and perhaps at least spend less time online. At least if you want to protect your friends and family.
