Commenting on Search 2.0 what's next?

This is a comment on MacManus's post titled "Search 2.0 what's next?"

  • most of what he describes is just minor innovations, sometimes not even that. Basically those are free market research for the big guys.
  • the next Google will take us by surprise. The service will be so good that it will be night and day compared to what we have today.
  • while I am not clear that there will ever be a next-Google, because it is impossible to predict an automatic way to do incredible things that for example the brain does, I am almost entirely sure that social search is taking the lead. By that I mean members of a "community" (I hate this word) answer problems asked by others : that happens in any message board and is by far the best search tool ever known.
