The latest illegal move from Microsoft consists in taking SOCs advances as an excuse to shorten the lifecycle of previous Windows versions such as 7 and 8.1.
Of course any person with knowledge on the matter knows that SOCs (System On a Chip) hardware are used in mobile devices such as phablets, smartphones, wearables and IoT objects. None of this matters to Windows 7 actually since those devices use a more recent version of Windows, most often stripped down depending on how little capable the device.
To get businesses and their laptops/desktops deployment coerced into purchasing Windows 10 going forward even though none of the reason why has any technical merit, Microsoft is using a fabricated reason (SOC). It is simply deception and should be sued.
In addition to suing Microsoft, businesses should start mandating PC manufacturers going forward to provide them with a generation older CPUs and mother boards in order to ensure that the Windows 7 support cycle remains applicable. This could become a deathbed for Intel and others.
For the record, Skylake CPUs work fine with Windows 7 on PCs. What you had to do, once you are done installing Windows 7 SP1, is install the mother board drivers (unless you purchase preconfigured PCs, in which was you have nothing to do). Microsoft has no say in all of this. The drivers are produced by hardware manufacturers, not Microsoft.
